It's the same at the left but I don't hit that end when typing. It seems a major flaw that the travel of the key is only opearbale about 10mm in.
Anyone else? I've read about the problem on other Yogas but not this one. Is it a mechanical fault that can be repaired? In my experience, with my YogaI don't see the issue you describe. The space bar registers a 'space' while typing wherever I press it.
In any case, it's a moot point now. Whilst still waiting for Lenovo to come back to me I actually fixed it myself. I noticed that the space bar was slightly down at either end, so popped it off with a screwdriver and lo and behold, the two little thin bars that run its length were not clicked into the clips properly, thus the pressure was not being equally distributed across its length.
Whether this was a duff model or it was reconditioned I bought new off ebay from a seller who'd been offered it as a replacement for a faulty I don't know. Either way it's much better now and with my shift and up arrow remapped and swapped over I have a laptop I can actually type on.
Now Microsoft just need to fix the scaling problem with high DPI displays I mostly fixed this by removing the spacebar and bending the underlying wire so the ends no longer sag. You just need something like a small flat screwdriver or plastic computer case tool. Run it along the edges and it pops off. Here is a video that may help:. This change was brought by the developers with the release of Chrome It all started about 6 months ago when I noticed that some arrow keys are not responding immediately so I had to tap twice or more.
A few weeks ago the aforementioned keys stopped working; following all the tips related to software didn't help, so I realized that these keys seem to be broken; then I reseated the keyboard and — not right away — but a few hours later I incidentally noticed that all keys started responding.
Though they still stop working from time to time, it usually lasts for less than 2 seconds. But today they stopped responding again and have not worked for a few hours. What should I do the next time this problem occurs? Why keys stop and start working when they want? Is it the Keys Revolution? I'm afraid. To determine if it is a software problem follow the directions of the following post.
It may be software or it could be a loose or defective keyboard cable. Unfortunately, I cannot login safe mode as every time I start the computer I'm asked to tap either F1 to continue or F2 to see settings or something — because the battery is old.
I cannot tap F2 as it is also not working as well as F3 and F4, but it looks like they stopped working long ago and I didn't notice it because hadn't used them. After I press F1, Windows starts loading — and pressing F8 makes no changes. On-screen keyboard is working fine when the 'n', 'b', and other mentioned keys aren't.
